Major Changes in the NEET 2025 Exam Pattern

The three major changes in the NEET 2025 exam pattern are as follows:

  1. Reduction in duration of exam: Till 2024, the NEET exam duration was 3 hours 20 minutes, whereas from 2025, the NEET exam duration will be 3 hours. The time is reduced due to the reduction in the number of questions.
  1. Removal of Section B: Section B in each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology) is removed. There will be only one section for each subject having 45 multiple-choice questions based on the syllabus for classes 11th and 12th.
  1. No Optional Questions: Previously, the NEET exam provided the choice in section B for each subject, where students were required to attempt 10 out of the 15 questions. This choice is eliminated from the current NEET exam and students are required to attempt all 180 questions in the exam paper.
