What’s New in NEET UG 2025: Exam Updates, Attempt Limits & More

 NEET UG 2025: NTA will soon announce new updates on the NEET 2025 application. NEET UG 2025 exam is expected on May 4, 2025. Due to recent issues in the NEET exam, the authorities are considering a revision in the current exam pattern and other norms. However, no official statement has been issued by NTA in this regard.

How Many Attempts Are There in NEET 2025?

The candidate who is 17 or reaches this age by December 31, 2025, is eligible to apply for the NEET 2025 exam. However, there is no upper age limit, so the candidate can apply for the exam as many times as he wants. 

The NEET 2025 exam will be offline (Pen & Paper) for three hours for admission to medical courses across the nation. 

What is the Maximum Number of Attempts the Candidate Can Apply?

According to the latest statement released on the NTA official website, “There is no cap for the number of attempts.” In addition to this the formal letter endorsed to The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s letter number U.12023/16/2010-ME-II dated 6th December 2017, states that the number of attempts limit is no longer applicable for the NEET exam. Therefore, the three-attempt limit is no longer applicable.

Is the NEET Exam Mode Changed For 2025?

NEET UG 2024 faced some severe issues like the paper leak, timing delay, etc. To combat such issues the committee has advised to take the NEET UG exam in multiple stages or hybrid mode. This suggestion is under consideration and no final decision has been made till now. The details of the NEET exam mode change will be announced officially by the authorities through NTA’s official website.

Will NTA Remove Optional Questions in NEET 2025?

It is predicted that the NTA will remove the optional questions from the NEET 2025 exam as it has made changes in the JEE 2025 exam by removing optional questions from section B stating the exam is reverting to the pattern followed before COVID-19. However, no official statement has been made by the authorities regarding this. If there is any change in the exam pattern the NTA will provide notification through its official website.

Has the NEET 2025 Exam Syllabus Changed?

NTA has revised the NEET 2025 syllabus with considerable changes in the syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must visit the official website of NEET to find the latest changes in the NEET syllabus and prepare for the exam accordingly.
